FAQ Category:

Particpants are discouraged from wearing headphones or listening to MP3 players during the race.

Although the route is fully traffic free, runners must still be able to listen out for marshall instructions and emergency vehicles on the route.  The race organisers are working with a local music college to provide regular musical motivation on the course and we hope that the local residents will be out in force to cheer the participants along.

The race organisers hope that you decide not to wear headphones and fully enjoy the music, support and conversation of your fellow runners.  If you do decide to wear headphones on race day we ask that you ensure the volume is low enough to be able to hear marshall instructions and other runners approaching.

The Race (2)

There will be pace areas & markers in the start funnel to encourage runners to start in the area most suited to their expected finish time for the enjoyment & safety of all.

There will be a single mass start and we expect all runners to filter across the start line within a minute or two.  As the race will be chip-timed this small delay will not affect the official chip times of any runner.

FAQ Category:
Walking some or all of the course is fine, but do note there is a cut off regarding street closures such that everyone needs to complete the course within 3 hours 15 minutes.

If you would like to build up your fitness levels in the lead-up to the event, then why not join a local running club.
